Late night confessions of a mother

October 25, 2017Linda AndersonBALANCE, FAMILY, FITNESS & WELLBEING, ME TIMENo Commentsbalance, me time, self care, sleep

With my husband heading away for almost 3 weeks for work I vowed I would take good care of myself so that I could remain in good spirits with the kids during this time. Part of this was a commitment to get enough sleep – no TV, go to bed with a book, lights out…

Claire Molloy Family

Introducing – Claire Molloy

August 15, 2017Linda AndersonINSPIRATIONAL MUMSNo CommentsInspiration, me time, self care

I first met Claire around 18 years ago (are we that old???) – I was working at the Sydney Opera House in their marketing department and Claire worked for the Bell Shakespeare Company marketing department. We had an instant connection and we have remained in touch, on an off, over the years … including now…

Motherhood – lean in, lean on, lean …

August 14, 2017Linda AndersonBALANCE, FAMILYNo Commentsme time, self care

I get to meet a lot of Mums through my work and of course by being a Mum of three myself! Many of these Mums have very little family support around them and so they feel like everything falls on their shoulders. Many Mums feel uncomfortable asking other Mums for help … after all they…

Why I don’t run with music

August 2, 2017Linda AndersonFITNESS & WELLBEING, ME TIMENo Commentsfitness with kids, me time, mums fitness, self care

Most friends I have that run, like to run with music. I totally get it because music can uplift you, distract you from how much your body hurts, and pump you up. Music can help you run further and faster. I tried running with music a few times and it was fun … but I…

Managing the Overwhelm

June 21, 2017Linda AndersonBALANCENo Commentsbalance, me time, meditation, overwhelm, self care

Overwhelm … That feeling that you are not in control any more, there are more things on the list than you could ever tick off, and you feel like you are being pushed down a raging river at 100 miles an hour. Overwhelm … I know you have felt this. Maybe you feel it now….

My first time in a Steam Room

June 7, 2017Linda AndersonFITNESS & WELLBEING, ME TIME1 Commentme time, mums fitness, self care

I have always been a little intimidated by steam rooms and saunas. Little rooms, full of half naked strangers, that you can’t really see into from outside. Rules and etiquette that I don’t know anything about.  So, I stick to the warm spa pool after a swim. On the weekend we took the kids “off…

Why I bought my own flowers for Mother’s Day

May 15, 2017Linda AndersonFAMILY2 CommentsFlowers, love, Mother's Day, self care, three kids

Mother’s Day … it is a day so full of expectation. There is this strong desire within Mothers around the world to feel valued, loved and appreciated. Let’s face it, motherhood can often feel like a thankless job. I have had eight Mother’s Days so far and until this year they have all been really…

I connected with Prue online earlier this year, actually through Instagram to begin with. She runs a site called ‘Mamas-me-time‘ which obviously resonates with me. I decided to learn more about this Mum of two and what inspired her to start her blog. I hope you enjoy getting to know Prue as much as I…

self care doesn't mean solo

Why self-care is not a solo pursuit

March 28, 2017Linda AndersonBALANCE, FAMILY, ME TIMENo Commentsbalance, intentions, me time, relationships, self care, three kids

Often when I speak to Mums about making time for themselves they see it is something that is 100% up to them to make happen.  There is an element of truth in this thought but it is not actually the truth. The Element of Truth It IS true that you need to be responsible for…

Injured – for an entire year now!

March 22, 2017Linda AndersonFITNESS & WELLBEINGNo Commentsfitness with kids, mums fitness, self care

My wedding anniversary is on Friday, which is of course a wonderful occasion. However, this also made me realise I have now been injured for an entire year, non-stop, and that is really disheartening. In March last year my back seized up. By seized up I mean I could not get out of bed by…

I decided to write my ocean swim events on the kit I decided to write my ocean swim events on the kitchen chalkboard. Partly to remind myself that I need to do more training if I have any hope of swimming 3km+ in 6 weeks time and partly to make these events more visable for the family. Otherwise they will all act like they had no idea I am heading away for some of these!
