Hard to believe we have been home from our big hiking trip for 2 weeks and I have only just found the space to sit and write about it! My husband turned 50 earlier this year and as part of his “year of 50” he wanted to walk one on the New Zealand Great Walks….

When did I stop loving my body?

February 22, 2018Linda AndersonFITNESS & WELLBEINGNo Commentsbodyblossom, hiking, self care, self love

We are off camping this Sunday for 5 nights. We haven’t been camping for at least 2 years now … possibly nearly 3 years! We are super excited. We are off to Motutapu Island and will be getting there via a water taxi service from Waiheke Island – much simpler than dealing with ferries. With…

Waiheke Walking Festival

November 15, 2016Linda AndersonFITNESS & WELLBEING, TRAVELNo Commentshiking, New Zealand, Waiheke Island

I am blessed to live on an island filled with amazing walking tracks. They follow the coast, cut through vineyards, lead you to waterfalls or just help you cut across a hill. I love heading out to explore new tracks, either alone or with the kids. The Waiheke Walking Festival starts on the 19th November…

“Mum, when can we go back to the desert?” asks Miss 5 the other week. “I’m not sure. Why would you like to go back?” I ask. “I want to see the flies again” I had to chuckle, the flies were definitely memorable … here I am trying not to swallow any!! In late October…

In our modern world we have neglected to support a In our modern world we have neglected to support and prepare a woman for the significant changes she will experience within herself when the mother is born. This transition from woman to mother is profound, and yet generations of women have been left to navigate this part of their journey alone.

It wasn't meant to be like this. We are supposed to gather. To share our wisdom with each other. To share our vulnerabilities. To take this journey hand in hand, to walk the path with others.

The doors to the 2021 Mama Rising Book Club have now opened and I can't wait to bring another small group of women together to explore their journey of motherhood together.

Thanks to Zoom we can be any where in the world together, and still gather.
We can rock our babies to sleep ... and still gather.
We can be in lockdown ... and still gather.

I am ready to gather .. are you?

It is time to explore the changes that motherhood has brought YOU, the woman.
It is time to feel supported.

You see, a beautiful soul I used to paddle with in Sydney was killed in an accident 2 weeks ago ... leaving behind young children and her wonderful husband. Tomorrow her funeral will be held in Sydney.
